Trapped air and water

Science
Grade 4

An air-gun ball flies out because trapped air pushes it. When you press trapped air in a syringe, it takes up less space, but it pushes back on your hand more strongly, and it returns to its old size when you let go. When you press trapped water in the same way, the water hardly changes at all. In other words, air can be squeezed but water cannot. Using this, you can make water guns and fountains.
