The force that electric current makes

Science
Grade 5

If you put an iron core inside a coil of wire and let a current flow, the core begins to work like a magnet. This is called an electromagnet. The coil with current in it turns the core into a magnet, and turning the current around swaps the north and south poles. Keeping the other conditions the same, you can also find that a larger current makes the electromagnet stronger, and that more turns of wire make it stronger too.
