How sound works
Science
Grade 3
When you ring a triangle or another instrument and touch it gently, you feel it shaking while the sound comes out. Sound and shaking go together, and when the shaking stops the sound stops too. A louder sound shakes more, and a quieter sound shakes less. With a string telephone you can feel the shaking of your voice travel along the string to your friend, which shows how sound moves from one place to another.
