Scientists find nitrogen near salt in asteroid sand

Scientists in Japan have found chemicals with nitrogen in sand from the asteroid Ryugu. The chemicals were gathered around small crystals of salt.
Water changes its form with temperature. If you keep heating water, it starts to boil at about 100 degrees Celsius and turns into a gas called water vapor while bubbles rise. However much you heat it, the temperature does not go above 100 degrees. The bubbles, and the white steam you see just above them, are the same water in different forms. If you cool water instead, it starts to freeze at 0 degrees and becomes solid ice, and it stays at 0 degrees while it is freezing. Ice also takes up more space than water. Water moves freely between solid, liquid, and gas, and this is called a change of state.

A glacier in Greenland has lost 5.4 meters of ice in 13 years. Scientists in Japan said this on September 1.
