Water in nature

Science
Grade 4

Washing dries and puddles disappear because water evaporates. Comparing a covered container with an open one shows that water leaves the surface of water and the ground, turns into water vapor that you cannot see, and goes into the air. This water is always in the air, only out of sight. If you put down a cold can of ice water, the vapor around it is cooled and drops of water appear on the can. This is condensation, the same thing that fogs up windows on a cold day.
