Wild storks in Japan grow to 476 birds

Wild storks are flying again in Japan. At the end of July 2024, there were 476 storks living in the wild.
Each prefecture has areas with a character of their own: places busy with crafts and industries handed down from long ago, places linked to sister cities abroad, places rich in nature, and places where historic scenery and old streets remain. People there work together to bring visitors and build up local business, to protect and make use of nature, to keep the old streets, and to live alongside people who have come from other countries. Looking at what people do and how the area grows, and comparing it with your own area, shows what is good and special about each part of the prefecture, which you can then put on a map or in a report and share.
