Many kinds of living things live in the schoolyard and around the school. When you look closely with a magnifying glass and write down what you see, you find that living things differ in color, shape, and size, and that every one of them looks a little different. If you compare them by color, shape, and size, you can sort them into groups of similar living things. Writing your observations on cards and putting everyone's cards together makes a picture book of living things.
